Marie-Laure MALLET
Graduate of the Beaux-Arts du Mans (DNSEP) in 1991.
Co-founder of the plastic art photography movement Transfiguring in 2014
For several years, Marie-Laure Mallethas been resolutely part of this current of visual artists who have chosen to offer, by combining painting, engraving and photography, new perspectives to their creative work. The artist takes advantage of the possibilities of digital photography to create original atmospheres. Innovations established through digitalization and her long practice of painting leads to strong and varied works in which emphasize her talent as colorist. After the great sites of destruction-renovation and metal bridges, her recent research focuses on port areas, industrial sites and railway stations where she obstinately captures the marks of our urban civilization in perpetual activity and constant change. She transfigures these subjects into surreal universes whose various constituent elements do not escape her compositional demands. By this transfiguration, the artist offers a representation of the work of time, challenging our perspective.
